After serving in pastoral ministry for twenty-five years, my mission now is to equip a new generation of pastors, be a friend to men in ministry, and encourage biblical church growth.

My book The Thriving Church: The True Measure of Growth was released in 2019. I produce a podcast for pastors called Shepherdology: A Pastor’s Friend. I also edit a website to encourage young men considering pastoral ministry called NextShepherd.com.

Posts reflect experiences that give me glimpses of truth, information I find helpful, observations on current events and issues, and suggested resources.  Inclusion of or links to material do not indicate that I agree with everything the source says or does. Material shared here does not necessarily reflect the views or positions of the academic institution I serve. Until April of 2016, I was a local church pastor. Posts prior to that date express ideas and experiences accordingly.
